During my travels, I returned to Eugene, O.R. and spent a week in the Whiteaker neighborhood at a local hostel. This eclectic community; filled with artists, vagabonds, unconventional people and progressives harbors a few vital elements of sustainability that serve as a model for other communities looking to move gently forward into the future.
